The exceedingly fascinating ancient cities in the Mediterranean Region should be a priority visit. Termessos, 35 kilometres northwest of Antalya, with a reputation of being the most splendid Mediterranean necropolis, is a Pisidyan city with reminders of an agora, theatre and an odion. The ruins of Perge, 18 kilometres northeast of Antalya, are scattered with the theatre on one hill and the acropolis on another. Legend has it that three heros from Troy constructed the city. Sillyon dates back to the 4th century B.C., and is situated 34 kilometres away from Antalya between Aspendos and Perge. Aspendos, where the Kopru River meets the sea, is reputed to raising the worlds best horses. It is one of the most important Pamphilian cities, and was also an important port and commercial centre.
